Men's Indoor Track Completes First Meet at WVU Invite

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia (January 7, 2001) -- The Ohio men's indoor track team performed well at the West Virginia Invite on Saturday afternoon. In their first meet of the season, the Bobcats were victorious in five events.
Ohio was led by sophomore, Eli Kiener, who won the shot put with a score of 15.98. Other Bobcat winners include James Taylor in the high jump with a clearing height of 6-11 , Scott Trahey in the 500m dash (1:08.00), Roger Redd in the 60m dash (7.05) and Steve Schaub in 200m dash (23.30).
A strong team showing allowed the Bobcats to place well overall. Sophomore, Tierra Pought, captured second in the 200m dash with a time of 23.96. Freshman, Ron Hill, finished second in the 500m dash (1:08.96) in his first intercollegiate meet. Junior, Chris London, also placed fourth in the 60m dash (7.14).
The Bobcats are back in action on Friday when they travel to Cincinnati for a tri-meet with the Bearcats and the Dayton Flyers.
