Ohio Women's Track Competes at WVU Invite
Meranda and Taylor Set School Records

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia (January 7, 2001) -- Sophomore, Jill Meranda (Loveland), and freshman, Monique Taylor (Whitby, Ontario), set school records as the Ohio women's track and field team competed individually at the WVU Invite.
Meranda set the school record in the pole vault with a height of 10 feet. Taylor finished second in the triple jump with a school record jump of 11.71 meters.
The Bobcats also swept the top two spots in the high jump. Junior, Michelle Borz (Parma), cleared five feet seven inches to win the event while junior, Sarah List (Milford), followed her with a clearance of 5-1. In the sprints, junior, C'Rai Weeden, won the section two final of the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:19.51, and junior, Melody Royster, finished third in heat two of the 60 meter hurdles.
In the distance events, freshman, Allison Jochum, and senior, Jacki Waller (New Port Richey, Fla.), finished fourth in the 800 and 3000 meter respectively. Jochum finished with a time of 2:31.16 out of 10 runners, and out of 14 participants, Waller ran a 10:47.20.
The women will travel to Cincinnati on January 12 to compete against the Bearcats and the Dayton Flyers at 5 p.m.
