Local radio personality to appear on NPR's 'All Things Considered'

ATHENS, Ohio (December 22, 2000) -- Ohio University Public Radio personality Mark Hellenberg is on his way to Vermont today to begin preparation for an appearance on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered." Hellenberg is expected to play the drums with a New England Celtic Band called "The Sevens." They are scheduled to tape a 19-minute segment featuring both music and interviews on Dec. 29. The air-date has been announced as Jan 1. Listeners can tune in for "All Things Considered" from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on the WOUB-FM radio network.
Hellenberg is best known as one of the voices on Ohio University Public Radio, hosting both Audiosyncracies with Rusty Smith and classical music throughout the week. Hellenberg is also widely known throughout the Athens music scene because he is a member of Wingnuts, Hotpoint, and Stella. Not only is Hellenberg travelling to Vermont for his appearance on ATC, but he also travels frequently with Hotpoint to all over the country for musical engagements.
"All Things Considered" offers an in-depth presentation of the day's news, and top celebrated stories. Multi-award-winning ATC celebrates its 30th anniversary in May 2001. It is public radio's standard-bearer, attracting loyal, intelligent listeners during one of radio's most important parts of the day.
