RADFORD, Va. (December 10, 2000) -- Cathy Szall scored 16 of her team-high 18 points in the second half, while Ronita Whitfield tallied 15 of her 17 points after intermission, but the Bobcats dropped their second straight game, 92-77, Sunday afternoon at Radford.

The Bobcats shot just 37.5 percent for the contest, including 21.1 percent from three-point range, hitting just over 30 percent in the opening period. Radford connected on 29 of 58 (50.0 percent) from the field and 27-of-32 from the free throw line, while also winning the rebounding battle, 44-35.

Ohio trailed 18-16 midway through the first half, but Radford scored nine straight points on a pair of three-pointers by Kylie Williamson and a triple by Catrice Horton. The Lady Highlanders connected on six threes in the period, en route to a 40-28 lead at intermission.

The Bobcats (2-5) scored the first four points of the second half, but Radford scored six straight to start a 23-5 run that pushed the lead to its biggest point, 63-37 with exactly 10 minutes remaining.

Ohio cut the margin to 10, 84-74 with 1:41 to play and to nine, 86-77 37 seconds later, but could never get closer. Radford (5-5) made its last 12 free throws and 27-of-30 in the second half.

Williamson finished the contest with 30 points, while four others topped double figures. Ohio's leading scorer, Jacquie Negrelli, Ohio's leading scorer at 15.6 points per game, was held scoreless for the first time in more than a year.
