ATHENS, Ohio (November 28, 2000) -- Ohio Athletics is joining with the Child Assault Prevention Project (CAP) to bring Christmas cheer to Athens Area children. Fans bringing a new or gently used toy to any of the four remaining women's basketball games before Christmas will receive a free general admission ticket for that night's contest.
The dates of the games are Thursday, Nov. 28 (Oregon State), Saturday, Dec. 2 (Pittsburgh), Tuesday, Dec. 5 (Long Beach State) and Friday, Dec. 8 (Minnesota).
CAP depends solely on community members and students to provide toys and supplies for their annual drive. Last year, over 500 children received a holiday gift and this year's goal is even higher.
The Bobcats are 1-1 entering their most difficult home stretch on the schedule. They are led by Jacquie Negrelli, who is averaging 14.0 points and 2.0 assists per game.
Additional ticket information can be obtained by calling the Ohio Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-575-CATS. For more information on CAP's work, contact Nina Persi or Stacey Saunders at 592-3091.
