Ohio University Closed November 23-24 for Thanksgiving Holiday
ATHENS, Ohio (November 23, 2000) -- Ohio University will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24 in observance of the national Thanksgiving Day holiday. Although Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, Nov. 23, the university operates under a floating holiday schedule and will remain closed Friday, Nov. 24, as an observance of Columbus Day.
This includes all regional campuses, as well as the College of Osteopathic Medicine and all branches of the University Osteopathic Medical Center. All five sites -- UOMC-Parks Hall in Athens, UOMC-O'Bleness in Athens, UOMC-Coolville, UOMC-Nelsonville Square, and UOMC-Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville -- will be closed. The university will reopen Monday, November 27,operating under normally scheduled hours.
Be sure to watch the Marching 110 on NBC as they perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. In addition, the Kennedy Museum of Art will be open Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. featuring the exhibit "Living the Tradition: Contemporary Hispanic Crafts from the Taylor Museum Collection," organized by the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, through November 26th.
