Ohio University Public Television Seeks Community Volunteers
WOUB/WOUC-TV, Ohio University Public Television to Kick-Off Holiday Showcase 2000 Membership Campaign

ATHENS, Ohio (-- Make a difference! Do something that helps thousands of people, and feel good about yourself at the same time! How? Join Ohio University Public Television for its Holiday Showcase 2000 Membership Campaign. This year, WOUB/WOUC-TV is celebrating the holiday season with all new programming, and the goal for the Membership Campaign is $60,000.

WOUB/WOUC-TV, Ohio University Public Television, is looking for individuals and community groups interested in helping as volunteers during the upcoming membership campaign. The Holiday Showcase 2000 Membership Campaign will begin Tuesday, November 28 and will conclude Saturday, December 16. Volunteers will be needed for three to four hour shifts primarily in the evenings and on weekends.

The Ohio University Telecommunications Center, a unit of the College of Communication, operates two television stations -- WOUB-TV/Channel 20 in Athens and WOUC-TV/Channel 44 in Cambridge -- and six radio stations -- WOUB-1340 AM, WOUB-91.3 FM, WOUC-89.1 FM, WOUH-91.9 FM, WOUL-89.1 FM and WOUZ-90.1 FM. The Center, a trusted community resource, uses the power of noncommercial television, radio and other media, such as the World Wide Web, to enrich the lives of children and adults in Southeastern Ohio and Western West Virginia through quality programs and educational services that inform, enlighten, inspire and entertain.
