Alden Library Access Restricted During Renovation

ATHENS, Ohio (November 16, 2000) -- Access to collections and services located on the second floor of Ohio University's Alden Library will be restricted between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day during renovation of the ceiling and lighting fixtures.
From Monday, Nov. 27, through Saturday, Dec. 2, public access will be restricted to the entrance lobby, Instructional Media and Technology Services, the elevators and main stairwell. Services that will be closed during that period are the Fine Arts Library, Current Periodicals, Copy Service, the Computer Lab and the snack/vending area.
From Monday, Dec. 4, through Friday, Dec. 29, following the demolition work and during construction of the new ceiling, library staff members will be available in the entrance lobby of the second floor to retrieve materials from the Fine Arts Library and Current Periodicals. Photocopy requests for the Copy Service also may be dropped off in this area, for completion within one working day. The Computer Lab and the snack/vending area will remain closed throughout the demolition and construction phases. Services and access to Instructional Media and Technology Services will not be disrupted.
Library hours from Nov. 27 through Dec. 16 are: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Beginning Dec. 18 through Jan. 2, the library will close at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Alden Library will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23, through Tuesday, Dec. 26, and Saturday, Dec. 30, through Monday, Jan. 1.
