ATHENS, Ohio (November 4) -- Ohio's Jenn Watt (Delta, B.C.) took a pass from Ali Johnstone (Delta, B.C.) and knocked it past Louisvilles Christy Hershey with 11:09 remaining in the game, giving the second-seeded Bobcats a hard fought, 1-0 victory over the third-seeded Cardinals (14-8). The win put the Bobcats (10-9) in the MAC Championship game tomorrow at 1 p.m. against top-seeded Kent State (18-3).
The game-winning goal came when Johnstone took the ball from a Louisville back at the top of the circle and found a wide-open Watt right in front of Hershey. Watts goal came on her first shot since returning from an ankle injury that has kept her sidelined for the past three weeks.
In this hard fought battle, both goalkeepers made one big stop after another.
