Ohio University NAACP Chapter Purpose

We strive to create an organization that will stand up for the African American community (students, faculty, administration, etc.)  We also will work in the form of preventative action to educate ourselves and others in order to lessen the cases in which formal action will need to be taken.

Mission Statement

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.

Vision Statement

The vision of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights and there is no racial hatred or racial discrimination.

Purpose

To inform youth of the problems affecting Africans in the Diaspora and other people of color.

To advance the economic, educational, social, and political status of Africans in the Diaspora and other people of color.

To stimulate an appreciation of the African American contribution to US civilization.

To develop an intelligent and militant youth leadership.
