Blues in Black and White
April 17, 2009 – June 14, 2009

Photographer Stanley Livingston captured the behind-the-scenes activities and onstage performances of blues legends at the landmark Ann Arbor Blues Festivals of the late 1960s. Livingston's photographs featured in this exhibition document these events and how a form of American music brought together blacks and whites and also influenced popular music.

This exhibition, which juxtaposes pieces from the Kennedy Museum's permanent collections including weavings, prints, paintings, ceramics, and African art, treats visitors to the breadth and variety of the Museum's holdings.
