PC-formatted FireWire File Size Limit
If your FireWire drive is PC-formatted, it will work in the lab, but it may have a 2GB limit per file. This would only be a problem for people digitizing video more than 8 minutes per file. If you don’t want to have this limitation, reformat your FireWire drive in the Mac Extended format, using the software that came with your FireWire drive. You can reformat back to PC format at a later date if you need PC compatability. You will need to make sure all critical files are off of the drive before you reformat.
