1992-97: I Wouldn't Change a Thing!
My first week in Bush Hall--where my group came together. And homesickness.
Our floor going out to the Greenery from Wednesday through Saturday evenings.
Tuesday, country night; Wednesday, ladies night; Thursday, 80's night; Friday and Saturdays, the weekend. After fall quarter we had to hit the books!
Attending every home football game, rain or shine, to watch the Marching 110.
And witnessing the OU Alumni Band fighting with the Miami team.
Talking to Dean Rudy while walking across the Green.
Dean Nelson's INCO 101. His true/false pop quizzes had patterns: Either T/F/T/F/T/F, or all Trues with one False.
Doc Hagerman's anatomy class-it taught me how to study.
Karaoking at Baker and bowling in the basement. Playing Euchre until the wee hours of the morning. Joining the rest of the campus during the "screw exams" riot that started on the South Green, worked through every green, went through town, and ended at President Ping's house for Christmas carols.
Palmer Fest every year; getting tattoos by Crow on Union Street; and Halloween.
Brother Jed and Sister Cindy.
Learning to budget money as I funded my own education.
Declaring a dual major and studying hard.
The 1994 blizzard. We felt like kids again. School closed and we slid down Jeff hill for the whole week using Shively cafeteria trays as sleds.
Being introduced to the diversity on campus. Becoming involved in the Gay/Lesbian community and coming out to my friends while experiencing a serious growth period, not only in my personal life, but in my academic life. And feeling at peace after being at OU for those 5 years.
