Academic Advising
Every Ohio University student is assigned a faculty advisor from his or her major area. Students should meet with their assigned advisor at least once a quarter to discuss course scheduling and receive their registration access code.
Mechanical Engineering has dedicated 6 faculty members to serve as advisors, each specializing in a particular area of the curriculum.
These advisors deal with each student's individual situation, helping them select courses and out-of-class activities best suited for their personal interests and career goals.
Important Notices About Advising
The Mechanical Engineering Departments sets aside ONE WEEK PER QUARTER (i.e. ADVISING WEEK) during which students meet one-on-one with their advisor. It is very important that you meet with your advisor during Advising Week.
Please refer to the Quarterly Academic Calendar and/or the Russ College Weekly E-News Letter (sent to your OAK Account) to determine when advising week will take place each quarter. The Academic Calendar is available on-line through the Registrar’s web page and is also printed in the quarterly Schedule of Classes. If you are unsure of who your advisor is, please see the ME secretary or use the My Information for Registration and Advising tool provided by the university.
