McClure School of Information and Telecommunication Systems Advisory Board member and Golf Classic Director Thomas C. Lonsbury received the Honorary Alumnus award during the 2006 Alumni Awards Gala at the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium Friday, October 20, 2006. 

Tom retired in 2004 as director of network services at Affiliated Computer Services, wrapping up a 45-year career in telecommunications.  Previously, he had served as manager of voice telecommunications for Caliber Technology, Roadway Information Technology and Summit Information Systems.

As a member of the school's Advisory Board, he initiated and has coordinated five annual golf classics, now named the Thomas Lonsbury Scholarship Golf Classic.  The golf classic has raised almost $60,000 and awarded four scholarships to deserving Information and Telecommunication Systems students.
