We encourage you to nominate individuals or yourself for either of the awards below. Awards are presented each year at Homecoming. You MUST submit all the required information about the nominee by September 15, 2006.
Gene P. Thrailkill Alumni Award
In 2001, The Ohio University Marching Band Society of Alumni and Friends began its mission to recognize alumni who have significantly contributed to the livelihood of the Ohio University Marching 110. This alumni award is specifically presented, yearly, to an alumnus of The Ohio University Marching 110 for their individual dedication to the marching band and personal achievement. Candidates for this award may be nominated by members of The Ohio University Marching Band Society of Alumni and Friends. Homer Baird Distinguished Service Award
In 2002, the Board of Directors chose to add another award of recognition. The "Homer Baird Distinguished Service Award" was added specifically to recognize individuals, not necessarily alumni, for their significant service, dedication, and loyalty to The Ohio University Marching 110. This award will also be presented yearly during the Homecoming festivities by the society. All award recipients will receive a personalized plaque and their names engraved on a larger plaque to be permanently displayed in the society's display cases in the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium. This Service Award is presented to individuals, not necessarily alumni, in recognition of significant service, dedication, and loyalty to The Ohio University Marching 110. Candidates for this award may be nominated by members of The Ohio University Marching Band Society of Alumni and Friends. How to Make an Award Nomination
We encourage you to nominate individuals or yourself for either award. To do this, please download the specific nomination form and supply the necessary information where requested. It is important to be thorough and that the information be sent to the supplied address on time for the nomination to be considered. Nominations not selected for this year's award will be reconsidered in future years. The OUMBSAF will notify the recipient prior to the Homecoming Banquet so that he/she will be in attendance to receive the award.
