Dear Marching Band Alumni:
As the new president of the Ohio University Marching Band Society of Alumni and Friends (OUMBSAF), I am honored to support the 110 in this capacity. It is my desire as president to ensure that the board represents the continuously expanding constituency of 110 alumni in every city, state and country!
We are always looking for more support - if you would like to be involved in the society or just share a new idea please contact me, I'd love to hear from you jmsantaguida@alumni.ohio.edu.
This year the Alumni Varsity Band (AVB) completed its inaugural season with great success! Spearheaded by OHIO volleyball coach Geoff Carlston and 110 alumnus Aaron Romero BSRS '92, MSPE '95, over 35 alumni participated in performances at home volleyball matches and tournaments across Ohio.
I HIGHLY SUGGEST joining this amazing group of alumni! Take this opportunity to polish off your horn and play some old and new standards. Most of all the AVB provides an opportunity for alumni across all generations share 110 memories and create new memories!
Your society is proud to invite you to another EXCITING HOMECOMING and the 40th anniversary of the Marching 110! In honor of this special occasion a banquet will be held on Saturday night in the beautiful rotunda room in Walter Hall (across from Peden).
I HIGHLY SUGGEST attending the banquet to relax after the game, catch-up with 'Old' and 'New' friends and celebrate the illustrious history of the Marching 110.
Here are a few Homecoming reminders:
What to wear: "Never too old to funk" t-shirt or black Marching 110 t-shirt or polo-shirt, and jeans and band jacket are the encouraged uniform.
During the Parade: ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL! University Program Council will remove any unit from the parade who violates this policy!
Please stop by the NEW Baker Center, Friday October 12, pick up a complete weekend schedule and meet up with friends, 7 - 10 p.m., 1804 Lounge.
ARE YOUR RECORDS UPDATED WITH THE OHIO UNIVERSITY ALUMNI SOCIETY?
Be sure to officially register with the Ohio University Alumni Association (OUAA), and log on to the Gateway to connect with 110 alumni. The OUMBSAF is only able to connect with alumni through the OUAA database-so please update your records! Visit www.ohio.edu/alumni for more information.
Finally, I would like to thank the OUMBSAF board, both past and present members, for the service and dedication. I am especially excited to launch our FIRST Annual Giving Campaign-and special thanks to Jenn Bowie for leading this effort.
This campaign provides alumni and friends of the Marching 110 with an opportunity to give and receive. Please consider donating to this campaign- help to ensure the future success of THE MOST EXCITING BAND IN THE LAND!
Sincerely,
Jessica Santaguida
