Master of Arts in TESOL, Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana
AREA(S) OF PROFESSIONAL INTEREST
• Understanding and empowering diverse
cognitive learning styles in the ESL/EFL classroom
I have enjoyed many rewarding moments working in the field of
second/foreign language education since 1995, when I began my teaching
career at a college preparatory school in Rome, Italy. In addition to
eleven years’ service in Italy, I taught undergraduate English and
professional development courses in South Korea for four years, and ESL
briefly in the United States, before joining OPIE in 2009. During
interim semesters, I have taught TESOL theory and methods courses in
China, South Korea, India, and for North American graduate programs
overseas. I am particularly interested in innovative CALL approaches
that render students’ language learning experiences more engaging, more
meaningful, and more complete – as opposed to tech merely for tech’s
