Greetings from a new OPIE faculty member! I grew up on a farm in western Michigan and received my BA in English from Michigan State University. After that, I joined the Peace Corps and taught EFL for two years to 2nd through 11th graders at a public school in eastern Ukraine. Returning to the US, I taught ESL preschool for a summer at the University of Michigan before beginning my MA TESOL back at Michigan State. During my MA program, I taught various courses at MSU's English Language Center, as well as teaching an advanced conversation class in a community-based program and working as a research assistant transcribing interviews in Ukrainian. I'm thrilled to be here at OPIE and am excited to see what the future holds for me here!
Outside of teaching ESL, my interests include reading, cooking, playing the piano, speaking Ukrainian and Russian, and exploring the Athens area via the bike trail.
