Welcome to my hometown! Though I am a native of
Athens, Ohio, I have lived and worked internationally for almost ten
years. My first experience abroad was in 1988 when I studied at
L'Institut D'Études Françaises de Touraine, in Tours, France. So I
understand what it is like to live and study in a foreign country. I am
also an avid traveler. I have visited many places in the U.S., Mexico,
Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
I have taught TESOL in many different settings over
the years. I have taught English for Legal Purposes in Amman, Jordan. I
have taught general and content-based English in a continuing education
program in Komaki, Japan and I have taught and served as the director
of an Academic English Program at Chubu University in Kasugai, Japan.
In addition, I spent two years teaching, teacher training, and serving
as the Director of Studies for a private school in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
Upon my return to Athens, I started working in the IEP at Ohio
University, where I've mainly taught ESL, but I have also taught some
university courses such as Freshman Composition, and Public Speaking.
I am always happy to see my students and I will try to
do whatever I can to help make their time here at Ohio University a
success.
My door is always open to you.
