Quiz A #1 scheduled on Monday, January 11 will cover the following materials:

Listening Comprehension <6 points>: You listen to Japanese expressions and identify their meanings.

Hiragana Words <8 points>: You read basic words and identify their meanings. There are two categories. 1) Words often used when describing oneself such as "gakusei" and "nihonjin", including terms for living arrangement, 2) Objects found in the classroom and in your room such as "tsukue" and "hon".

Quiz B #1 scheduled on Friday, January 15 will cover the following materials:

Kanji <6 points>: Reading, writing and comprehension of the Kanji in Chapter 1: Consult p. 123 of the textbook and pp. 133-137 of the workbook/language lab manual.

Quiz A #2 scheduled on Tuesday, January 19 will cover the following materials:

Vocabulary identification <4 points>: Your instructor will read words from the lists (Days of the month on p.178, and Weeks, Month, and Years on p.179 of the textbook) of which you identify at least 4.

The Nonpast Polite Form of Verbs(~MASU、 ~MASEN) <8 points : You will be given a daily schedule and asked to answer the questions.  
Learn the following ten verbs:
OKIMASU、(~NI)IKIMASU、(~WO)MIMASU、(~WO)KIKIMASU、(~WO) NOMIMASU、(~WO)TABEMASU、(~WO)BENKYOUSIMASU、~WO)YOMIMASU、NEMASU、KAERIMASU
