Teaching English as a Foreign Language Sequence

Completion of the following coursework leads to a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from the Department of Linguistics at Ohio University. This content is designed for individuals planning to teach English overseas. Course content provides a foundation in the study and analysis of language components, learning theories, classroom methodologies, and lesson planning. The final course in the sequence, a teaching practicum, pulls together the coursework into an application environment with trained supervisors directing teacher development.
