The LGBT Center offers a variety of educational and cultural programs and social events throughout the academic year. We kick off the school year with an annual Meet & Greet to help connect new LGBTQA students to the community. Join us for programs such as Dine & Discuss, Queer Hollywood, social events, guest speakers, and more throughout the year. Stop in just to hang out in our lounge space to study, read magazines, chat, meet, play board games, or watch TV. As a broadcast awareness effort, we educate the campus with a poster series each quarter. Watch for We Are OUTstanding (Fall), Queer Quotes (Winter) and Faces of Pride (Spring). We coordinate LGBTQA Leadership Council meetings to assist student leaders who plan OUT Week (Fall) and PRIDE Week (Spring). In May, we wrap up each year with the LGBTQA Community Celebration & PRIDE Graduation.
Our speakers’ bureau educates the campus about sexual orientation and gender identity through panel discussions in classes, residence halls, Greek houses, and other university and local settings. These 3-4 speaker panel presentations combine personal stories with educational information. Explore the SpeakOUT! page.

We offer a variety of SafeZone trainings that are open to all students, staff, faculty and community members.
SafeZone is a training program open to ALL students, staff, faculty, and community members. Each training lasts two hours and focuses on understanding the dynamics of gender and sexual orientation.
As part of an increased effort to focus on issues specific to certain categories of LGBTQA+ people, we now have a range of new "SafeZone 201s" available for anyone to attend. Check out the descriptions for each of the Supplemental SafeZone trainings we offer here: http://www.ohio.edu/lgbt/safezone/safezoneprograms.cfm
In addition to our current SafeZone curricula, the center is happy to explore specific or tailored presentations on LGBTQ identities for particular groups and communities (such as medical / healthcare community, mental health groups, teachers/educators, religious communities, etc).
