Programs

The LGBT Center offers a variety of educational and cultural programs and social events throughout the academic year.  We kick off the school year with our annual ‘Orientation’ Orientation to help connect new LGBTA students to the community.  Join us for programs such as Dine & Discuss, BIG GAY Movie Night, social events, guest speakers, and more throughout the year. Stop in just to hang out in our lounge space to study, read magazines, chat, meet, play board games, or watch TV. As a broadcast awareness effort, we educate the campus with a poster series each quarter. Watch for We Are OUTstanding (Fall), Queer Quotes (Winter) and Faces of Pride (Spring). We coordinate LGBTA Leadership Council meetings to assist student leaders who plan OUT Week (Fall) and PRIDE Week (Spring).  In May, we wrap up each year with the LGBTA Community Celebration & PRIDE Graduation.

SpeakOUT!:

Our speakers’ bureau educates the campus about sexual orientation and gender identity through panel discussions in classes, residence halls, Greek houses, and other university and local settings. These 3-4 speaker panel presentations combine personal stories with educational information. Explore the SpeakOUT! page.
