WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BE OUT or TO BE AN ALLY?
Anything we can do, either by being out or an Ally, helps to break down fear and stereotypes. It puts a “real” face on what some people view simply as the letters L-G-B-T.
WHY ARE YOU “PROUD”? WHAT ARE YOU MOST “PROUD” OF?
One of my closest friends is homophobic. I take every opportunity I can to challenge her fear and beliefs. I know I have caused her to really question her long-standing points of view.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHERS WHO COME OUT?
Please don’t be afraid to show the world who you are. We all need each other and we all have our place in this world.
THOUGHTS FOR NON-LGBT PEOPLE ABOUT LGBT PEOPLE AND CONCERNS:
We all need to serve proudly as allies and voices for those whose voice is not always heard or listened to.
