WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BE OUT?:
It is important for LGBT individuals to come out because as the number of people who are out increases then the shock value and stigma associated with being LGBT will slowly decrease over time. Also it is important to embrace all aspects of yourself, including your sexual orientation.
WHY ARE YOU PROUD?:
I am proud to be gay because I have become a much better version of myself since coming out. I am most proud of the friendships that I have formed and the experiences that I have had since coming out was the most difficult aspect of my coming out.
WHAT WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT PART ABOUT COMING OUT?:
Getting beyond the fear of what others might think of me once I finally came out.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHERS WHO COME OUT?:
Coming out is a very personal and life changing event. It has to be done on your time and your terms. Make sure that you have a solid support system before you do.
THOUGHTS FOR NON-LGBT PEOPLE ABOUT LGBT PEOPLE AND CONCERNS:
The movement toward equality for LGBT individuals cannot be successful without your support and acceptance of allies.
