WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BE OUT or TO BE AN ALLY?
It is important to be visibly supportive of an invisible group that suffers such amazingly visible prejudices and oppression.  It’s important to try to balance the odds   in order to tip the scales of oppression.

WHY ARE YOU “PROUD”?  WHAT ARE YOU MOST “PROUD” OF?
I am proud of my friendships with my LGBT brothers and sisters.  I am proud to work on a campus with a full-time LGBT Center and coordinator.  I am proud that my son’s favorite color is pink.  I am proud to defy gender barriers and stereotypes.  I’m proud to have a hyphenated family name.
