WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BE AN ALLY?
It is important to be an ALLY because as a member of the majority is it the best way to reach other members of the majority and begin to change minds. I have a responsibility to myself, my friends and my loved ones.
WHY ARE YOU “PROUD”? WHAT ARE YOU MOST “PROUD” OF?
I am most proud of my friends and family who are out. So many of my close friends my age have struggled but are strong, amazing people who stand up for their convictions and beliefs.
THOUGHTS FOR NON-LGBT PEOPLE ABOUT LGBT PEOPLE AND CONCERNS:
First and foremost we are all people, simple as that. A guarantee of safety, equality and love should be promised to all people, not just those in the majority. All three transcend color, gender and sexual orientation. Non-LGBT people have a responsibility to guarantee these basic rights to everyone and we also have the responsibility to fight for these rights not just for ourselves but for fellow human beings.
