Myra Quaintance, Pansexual
1-5Freshman, Education

Myra defines Pansexuality as being attracted to only personalities. Gender plays no role in who I fall in love with. My love is limitless.

Wikipedia's definition of  Pansexuality is a sexual orientation characterized by the potential for aesthetic attraction, romantic love, or sexual desire for people,  regardless of their gender identity or biological sex. Some pansexuals suggest that they are gender-blind; that gender and sex are insignificant  or irrelevant in determining whether they will be sexually attracted to others.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BE OUT?
People in the LGBT community need to have support and know that there are people to turn to in times of confusion.  It also provides awareness that helps prevent homophobia.

WHY ARE YOU “PROUD”?  WHAT ARE YOU MOST “PROUD” OF?
I am proud that I can be a representative of this group.  I love being a part of a group and being able to provide support to those who need it.

WHAT WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF COMING OUT?
The most difficult part was telling my mother and being rejected because of her religious point of views.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHERS WHO COME OUT?
The first person you tell and your parents are the hardest.  Don't worry about what people in your community or school think of you, because if they treat you horribly because of it, they don't deserve to be a part of your life.

THOUGHTS FOR NON-LGBT PEOPLE ABOUT LGBT PEOPLE AND CONCERNS:
We're no different than you.  Everyone has something that makes them unique from everyone else.  If we all were the same, life would be very boring indeed.  Our sexuality is no different from our hair or eye color.  You can cover it up, but you'll always be what you truly are. Don't judge us on appearance and stereotypes.
