To support members of the community who are LGBTQ and to increase awareness and sensitivity on this campus…and everywhere else for that matter.
WHY ARE YOU “PROUD”? WHAT ARE YOU MOST “PROUD” OF?
I am proud of my ability to speak up for what I believe in. I am most proud of my unique and wonderful family and friends.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHERS WHO COME OUT?
Be yourself and speak to someone else who has gone through the process or an ally who is able to listen and provide resources for you. Try not to let the ignorant or uninformed extinguish who you really are.
THOUGHTS FOR NON-LGBT PEOPLE ABOUT LGBT PEOPLE AND CONCERNS:
Keep an open mind, get to know someone who is LGBT, read, attend the events around campus that are not what you normally attend, and push yourself to be an educated, informed individual.
