WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BE OUTor TO BE AN ALLY?
It is important to be an ally because it is simply the right thing to do. No one should be made to feel less than others because of their sexual identity.
THOUGHTS FOR NON-LGBT PEOPLEABOUT LGBT PEOPLE AND CONCERNS:
We all have the same hopes and fears regardless of identity.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Being an ally is not always an easy job. Sometimes you have to put yourself out there and know that at the end of the day, you can be happy that you stood up for what is right. As an ally there might be times when you say the wrong thing or you might feel uncomfortable—just remember that it is okay. These are the times to create change and we can only do that one person at a time.
