Mission: Prepare graduates to successfully apply the principles of Civil Engineering

• Prepare graduates to enter and progress in the practice and principles of Civil Engineering
• Provide students with a broad education in Civil Engineering
• Expose students to technologies and tools necessary for the Civil Engineering profession
• Ensure faculty are qualified to teach and advise Civil Engineering students

• Provide students with background and skills in:
  (a) mathematics
  (b) science
  (c) engineering
  (d) experimental procedures/processes
  (e) design
• Provide students with a learning environment that fosters:
  (a) functioning on multidisciplinary teams
  (b) understanding professional and ethical responsibilities
  (c) effective oral and written communication
  (d) recognition of current and future societal concerns
  (e) the need for life-long learning
  (f) understanding of engineering and its impacts on society
• Expose students to state-of-the-art and state-of-the-practice facilities/equipment.
• Assure faculty maintain competency to advise and teach CE students by performing research, staying active in professional/technical organizations, and interacting with the Civil Engineering industry.
