Undergraduate Program
“Informed, responsible practitioners”
- Graduates of the counselor education program will be exposed to a curriculum which is nationally accredited by CACREP and CORE to ensure that they are competent to practice in their chosen area of counseling specialization.
- Graduates of the counselor education program will be eligible to obtain state licensure and/or national certification as professional counselors.

- Graduates of the counselor education program will be competent to work with clients from various cultures, ethnic backgrounds, individuals with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups.
- Graduates of the counselor education program will respect and understand the impact of culture on the counseling process and implement counseling services which are sensitive to cultural issues.

- Graduates of the counselor education program will be knowledgeable of and adherent to professional codes of ethics in the counseling profession and standards of practice

- Graduates of the counselor education program will achieve credentials consistent with the practice of professional counseling and maintain these credentials through appropriate continuing education.

- Graduates of the counselor education program will remain knowledgeable about legislative issues that impact the practice of professional counseling.

- Graduates of the counselor education program will be proficient in the use of technology in teaching and presentation.
- Graduates of the counselor education will adhere to the ethical guidelines for the use of technology in counseling as set forth in the American Counseling Association 2005 Code of Ethics.
- Graduates of the counselor education program will be familiar with current technologies to assist with the provision of counseling services and record-keeping.
- Graduates of the counselor education program will be able to use technology to search for resources and conduct resources.
