College of Fine Arts

“Experience the Arts”

Do you plan to pursue a major in art, dance, interior architecture, music or theater? Picture yourself living in our “arts-friendly” residence hall that has space dedicated to each discipline. You're surrounded by friends who are interested in the arts, take some of the same classes with you, and are willing to share in the creative process.

The “Experience the Arts” learning community is housed in the newly renovated, air-conditioned Lincoln Hall, located on the East Green in close proximity to all the Fine Arts classrooms and labs. The facility provides a separate art studio, a drafting table, a computer room with art- and music-friendly software and equipment, mirrors and rehearsal space for dancers and performers, as well as lighting, curtains and props for theater students. Bring your creativity and imagination to the spaces and join your friends in finding new avenues of expression!

You will live with other Fine Arts freshmen and upperclassmen majoring in art, dance, interior architecture, music and theater who understand that practice, rehearsal, and/or studio time is necessary for your success. You will be able to share ideas for arts projects, explore interdisciplinary avenues of expression and support each other as you pursue similar goals.

Participation Requirements

The only requirement for you to be in the Fine Arts RLC is that you be admitted to Ohio University as an incoming freshman in the College of Fine Arts. There are no additional costs associated with being a part of this learning community. What a great way to get involved early on and jump-start your college career!
