Annual Leadership Awards Gala

The Leadership Awards Gala is SOLD OUT. Thank you for another great year! (Rev. 4/25/2012)

History and Description

The Leadership Recognition Reception was established in 1983 to recognize the outstanding work of individuals and student organizations on the Ohio University campus and its surrounding community. In 2008, for the event's 25th anniversary, the Division of Student Affairs transformed the reception to what is now known as its "premier event": The Leadership Awards Gala - a grand evening in celebration of our students and their outstanding demonstration of character, commitment, civility, community, and citizenship.

Each spring, faculty and staff from a broad representation of disciplines and areas from across our campus meet to review applications and nominations for several categories, including:

  • The Edwin L. Kennedy Leadership Awards for Outstanding Community Service (presented to an individual and an organization)
  • King/Chavez/Parks Leadership Award (individual)
  • Latino Heritage Achievement Award (individual)
  • Outstanding Graduate Student Leader Awards (individual)
  • Outstanding Senior Leader Awards (individuals)
  • The Rudy Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Student Leadership (individual)
  • The Stonewall Leadership Award (individual)
  • Women's Issues Leadership Awards (individual)
  • Charles J. Ping International Student Leadership Award (individual)
  • Outstanding Student Organization Programming Awards (organizations; spring, winter, fall)

Deadline was: 11:59 P.M. - February 24th, 2012
