SINGING AUDITIONS

Prepare 16-32 bars of a song from the musical; use as much range as possible.  The song should be choreographed or staged.  If you are auditioning for a specific role, choose a song that the character sings in the show.  If you are auditioning for the chorus/dancer, you may sing any song from the show.  An accompanist or a recorded track will be provided.  Sing the song in the original key.  No A Capella Singing!  Provide the accompanist or sound technician with the measures that you plan to sing.   You will also read from the script following your vocal audition.

DANCE AUDITIONS

The dance auditions will follow your vocal auditions and be done in groups.  You must complete the vocal audition AND the dance auditions to be cast in the show.  Dress appropriately for the dance audition:  dance attire, character shoes, sweats, t-shirts, etc.  You will be taught 16-32 bars of choreography.

Women should wear character shoes or a comfortable heel, and a solid colored leotard, an above the knee skirt, or dance tights. Men should wear jazz or soft dress shoes, a form-fitting white colored t-shirt or tank, sweat pants, jazz pant or tights. No shorts or bulky, oversized sweat-pants.  Tennis shoes or sneakers should be avoided.
