February 18, 2014 : Online Testing Center Scheduling Now Available
The Testing Centers on both the Ohio University Lancaster Campus and the Pickerington Center are now offering and encouraging students to schedule their exams online. The online scheduling gives students the ability to schedule at their convenience and outside of business hours if needed. Additionally, the online appointment scheduling decreases phone disturbance while students are taking exams.
“The way students can schedule an exam online is to visit either: www.ohio.edu/lancaster or www.ohio.edu/pickerington depending on their preferred location. On either website, click Academic Support then click, Testing Center. On each testing center webpage there is wording that says “Click Here to Schedule Exam.” Click on that wording and the appointment scheduling screen will appear,” said Pickerington Center Testing Center Coordinator Melanie Garrabrant.
Students scheduling an exam using the online appointment system should be prepared to provide the following information:
First and Last Name
Email address – to receive an appointment confirmation and reminder
Course Name and Number (or non-Ohio University school name)
Instructor’s Last Name (or program of study for non-Ohio University students)
Exam appointments should be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Testing at the Pickerington Center is by appointment only Monday – Thursday. The Lancaster Testing Center provides testing Monday – Friday and accepts walk-in’s, but appointments are recommended. Appointments guarantee students a seat and this can be critical during busy examination periods like finals week.
Both Testing Centers proctor exams for Ohio University online students at no cost, as well as proctoring exams for non-Ohio University online students for a fee of $20 per exam. Students may also schedule make-up exams and placement testing through both Testing Centers. The Lancaster Testing Center provides various certification testing; fees are dependent upon the type of certification exam being administered.
Both Testing Centers can be reached by telephone and via email with questions, concerns, or to assist students with appointment scheduling. Contact information for both Testing Centers:
