Lancaster – The title of the art exhibit may be "Fowl Weather," but you will not see anything that will put you in a foul mood. Painter Lisa Schorr's show opened Thursday, January 24 in the Raymond S. Wilkes Gallery for the Visual Arts at Ohio University Lancaster.
"Hopefully, they will see happiness. I think there is happiness in the simplicity of the execution of the rainy day series," said Schorr. "I just want people to leave with the feeling that we're kind of all in this together, trudging along under our umbrellas and getting over all the bumps in the road."
Schorr is a self-taught artist from Lancaster. She mainly does water color paintings. She said she does not remember a time in her life when she did not paint.
"Art doesn't have to be extremely complicated with many, many layers," said Schorr. "It can be light and just joyful."
Schorr hopes the show in the 5th floor gallery in Brasee Hall will put a smile on the face of all who see it.
"Hopefully, they'll just feel good when you leave from this show," said Schorr.
The show runs until February 22.
