Lancaster – The roof replacement project on the 5th floor of Brasee Hall is in full swing. A portion of the roof is being replaced. The work started on Monday, June 23 and should end in about three weeks.
“We’ve had several roof leaks on the 5th floor of Brasee Hall,” said Physical Plant Director Rick Wilkins. “We needed to replace the roof because it was beyond repair.”
The last time the roof was replaced was in 1994. Brasee Hall was constructed in 1968. The current roof project is part of the overall plan to maintain the aging buildings on campus.
“In addition to the roof replacement, we are adding insulation,” said Wilkins. “The insulation will help with temperature control in the building.”
Wilkins is asking faculty, staff and students to understand that the work on the roof might cause disruptions during the day.
“During this time, we appreciate your patience and apologize for the noise, dust and odor that may be caused by the work being done on this project,” said Wilkins.
The roof of Herrold Hall is next in line to be replaced; however, Wilkins said that work is not scheduled yet.
