June 05, 2014 : First Orientation Session Tomorrow
- Cheri Russo
Communications and Marketing Manager

Lancaster – Even though it seems like summer has only just begun, students who will attend Ohio University Lancaster | Pickerington for the first time this fall are starting to learn the ropes.  The first new student orientation session will be held tomorrow. Several orientation sessions are held throughout the summer at both the Lancaster Campus and Pickerington Center.

“We go over the process for enrolling.  We also have students take placement tests, go in for an advising session and register for classes,” said Enrollment Manager Pat Fox.  “We show students how to apply for financial aid.  They also learn about opening their e-mail, the student organizations that are available, day care, library services and disability services.”

The orientation lasts about three hours.  It’s a chance for students to get all their questions answered before classes start on August 25.

“The orientation is really important for new students because it helps them learn what they need to do to become a successful student,” said Fox. “No matter how old you are, it’s important that new students come to an orientation session.”
