Lancaster – Art students from the Ohio University Lancaster Campus participated in the 3rd Annual Student Art Exhibition last week in Herrold Hall. The evening art show was held in a classroom and flowed out into a nearby hallway.
"The art students are very proud of their work this year," said Instructor Rachel Clark. "And since there is a large group transferring to the Athens campus they really needed a capstone experience from OUL."
The show included more traditional work like painting and ceramics. But, it also included different types of art work like inflatable art. Clark said she was very impressed with the student's work.
"It was a huge success to see the students spend the whole day refining the presentation of their artwork and collaborating in a gallery context," said Clark. "They cleaned the space immaculately and then spent hours installing and rearranging the art and space to find the best context for their work."
A group of experimental musicians called "Godversussatan" performed at the reception. OUL student Nathan Savage played music with the group.
The juror for the show was Robert Wright. He is an artist and currently a teacher. He stayed after the judging and spoke with students about their work.
