Ilene Oatney

Frances Ilene Oatney's oldest son said one of his mother's proudest accomplishments was graduating from Ohio University. She was one of the first students to enroll at the Ohio University Lancaster Campus when it opened in 1956.

A 45-year old Lancaster woman learned how to complete her degree at an OUL information session in 2011. She decided to finish her degree after the tragic loss of her 13-year old daughter and is thankful for the opportunity to go back to school.

"Walk in Wednesdays" are underway at the Ohio University Pickerington Center this summer. It's a day for students interested in coming to school at the Pickerington Center to come in and ask questions.

Oklahoma walk

About $550 was raised during a 5k walk at Ohio University Lancaster Saturday held for the tornado victims in Oklahoma. Students in OUL's Human Services Technology Student Association organized the event to collect money to help.
