Ohio University-Lancaster's EMS Education Program is in its eighth year. Over the past two years, our students have performed exceedingly well on the National Registry written exam. We have a 95% first- time pass rate. Nationally, the paramedic first-time pass rate is 68%. Our students pass rate places our EMS Education program as one of the best in Central Ohio. Emergency Medical Technician Course will begin Fall, 2014
EMT Certification is the first step in building a career in Emergency Medical Services. OU-Lancaster's EMS program will run an EMT class on an as needed basis. To assure adequate student to instructor ratio we will start a class when we have 10 students signed up. The length of the course is approximately 3 months meeting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Successful completion of classroom, lab participation and clinical rotations will qualify the student to sit for the National Registry EMT examination.

Paramedic Course begins in September, 2014
Paramedic certification is the highest level pre-hospital provider currently offered in Ohio. Paramedic education takes approximately nine months of intensive classroom, lab participation and high acuity hospital and pre-hospital clinical experience. A successful student will be prepared to work in Emergency Medical Services and in Emergency departments/critical care areas. Following successful completion of the paramedic program the student will be prepared to sit for the National Registry practical examination which tests the students Advance Life Support skill set.
