EMS Education

Ohio University-Lancaster's EMS Education Program is in its ninth year.  Over the past two years, our students have performed exceedingly well on the National Registry written exam.  ­ Click here for information on any of our EMS programs.

Emergency Medical Technician ­ ­ ­

EMT Certification is the first step in building a career in Emergency Medical Services. OU-Lancaster's EMS program will run an EMT class on an as needed basis. To assure adequate student to instructor ratio we will start a class when we have 10 students signed up. The length of the course is approximately 4 months meeting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

High School Diploma

Paramedic­­­­­­­­­ Course typically begins in September

Paramedic certification is the highest level pre-hospital provider currently offered in Ohio. Paramedic education takes approximately nine months of intensive classroom, lab participation and high acuity hospital and pre-hospital clinical experience. To assure adequate student to instructor ratio we will start a class when we have 10 students signed up.  A successful student will be prepared to work in Emergency Medical Services and in Emergency departments/critical care areas.

High School Diploma

EMT certificate to practice

Pass a state of Ohio background check

Pass entrance exam

Interview

Our instructors will bring Continuing Education to your department when needed. We are also able to bring standardized courses as well. Let us know your needs and we will adapt any topic or subject material to you.
