Valid forms of ID include: current Ohio University ID card*, Friends of the Library card**, library-issued community borrower's card***, or an ID card from another Ohio college or university.

Overdue Items
While the Hannah V. McCauley Library doesn't charge overdue fines for most items, there are processing and billing fees for items considered lost. Please be sure to renew items to avoid these fees.
Most Ohio University items are assumed lost if overdue by 30 days or more. The fee for lost Ohio University items is $100: a non-refundable processing fee of $25 and a replacement cost of $75.
Most OhioLINK items are assumed lost if overdue by 30 days or more. The fee for lost OhioLINK items is $125: a non-refundable billing fee of $50 and a replacement cost of $75. The replacement cost may be refunded if the item is returned.
Additional Overdue Policies
Search Ohio is a service provided through the OhioLINK site, but their policies are set by the Search Ohio consortium. Search Ohio items can be renewed up to 3 times if not reserved by another patron. The Search Ohio overdue fine is $.50 per day with a maximum charge of $5.00. A charge of $25 per item will be billed for any item damaged or not returned.
*Students should visit the student services office for an ID card. **For information about the Friends of the Library, please visit the Friends of the Library page. ***Community borrows must be 18 years of age or older and reside in Fairfield, Hocking, or Perry Counties, or be an Ohio University alumni. Community borrowers must show a photo ID to register and renew memberships.
