Collaboration: Working Together

The concept that collaboration among public and private service providers improves the effectiveness of social services programs is an accepted reality. Often a requirement of funders, eager to realize greater impact with limited resources. The word collaboration, like community, can mean many things to all people. Collaboration refers to a process of working together to accomplish common aims and is typically motivated by the sense that one party cannot accomplish a task on its own, or not nearly as well, as it could by working together. Structuring and leading a successful collaborative effort requires a set of skills that students will explore. Instructor: Becky Edwards.
