Collaboration: Working Together
The concept that collaboration among public and private service providers improves the effectiveness of social services programs is an accepted reality. Often a requirement of funders, eager to realize greater impact with limited resources. The word collaboration, like community, can mean many things to all people. Collaboration refers to a process of working together to accomplish common aims and is typically motivated by the sense that one party cannot accomplish a task on its own, or not nearly as well, as it could by working together. Structuring and leading a successful collaborative effort requires a set of skills that students will explore. Instructor: Becky Edwards.

MS Powerpoint 2010
The students will explore the Powerpoint environment and create a new presentation. They will format text on slides to enhance clarity. In order to enhance the visual appeal, they will add graphical objects to a presentation and modify them. They will also add tables and charts to a presentation to present data in a structured form. They will then finalize a presentation to deliver. Instructor: Mike Kelley.

Introduction to Personality Type Theory
The purpose of this course is to make the theory of personality type understandable and useful in people’s everyday personal and work lives. Personality type theory as it relates to interpersonal communication, team building, teaching and learning styles will be explored. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator will be the professional instrument used to determine each participant’s profile. Instructors: Jane Johnsen and Sandy Foster.

A collaborative workshop to train educators in school, hospital and youth leader settings to teach historical and cultural table/board games. From Ovid’s early Rome through medieval England and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” to the 1960’s, we will discover the “Art of Gaming”. For educators, emphasis will be placed upon Academic Content Standards in literature, history and mathematics. Instructor: Ellen Ford.

A one-credit undergraduate/graduate workshop via OULN demonstrating a unique way for teachers, youth leaders and counselors to incorporate storytelling into their presentations. The participants will learn “how to lead” stories using a variety of historical techniques then integrate this experience into their workplace.
