What is Kairos?
Kairos is a student-run organization through Ohio University.  It is a non-
denominational, spiritual retreat that focuses mostly on reflection and self-
introspection.  It is a way to take a step back from the chaos of every day
life and take time for yourself.  During the Kairos retreat, sharing is
encouraged, but not forced.

The program was orignially based on a Catholic retreat that was put on in
Catholic high schools around Ohio.  But in 1998 when it was brought to OU by a
young woman who wanted to share her experiences with others, it was opened up
to young men and women of all faiths.  Since 1998 over 400 Ohio University
students, their siblings and friends have gone on Kairos here.

Kairos is most often held at Fur Peace Ranch in Pomeroy, Ohio.  Fur Peace
Ranch is owned by Jorma and Vanessa Kaukonen.  Jorma was the lead guitarist of
Jefferson Airplane and now performs with Hot Tuna.

At the very least, Kairos is a way to have a drug and alcohol free weekend
while spending time at the beautiful Fur Peace Ranch and making new friends at
the same time.
