Entry-Level Clinical Programs: M.A. in Speech-Language
Pathology and AUD Programs
Clinical educational programs must have an ongoing
mechanism for assessing academic and clinical education (ASHA CAA Standard
1.6). This must address the academic coursework and the clinical education
components. Programs should develop mechanisms that meet their needs.
Programs will also need to implement a mechanism for using these data and make
improvements where needed. Assessments may include surveys, consumer
satisfaction questionnaires, or open-ended questionnaires. Items placed on
these surveys should address the goals of the program as they are being
developed. They also should be multi-sourced (current students, alumni,
employers, clinical patrons, external supervisors, etc.).
