Welcome to the resource page on academic assessment in communication sciences and disorders, sponsored by the JCAA.

What is the JCAA?

The Joint Committee on Academic Assessment in Communication Sciences and Disorders JCAA was formed in 2001 with the purpose of helping representatives of academic programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders increase their knowledge of outcomes assessment and student evaluation methods in complementary ways.

Associations represented by the JCAA are: the American Academy of Audiology, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Council on Academic Accreditation and Council for Clinical Certification (ASHA), the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Special Interest Division in Higher Education (ASHA SID 10), the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences  and Disorders (CAPCSD), and the National Academy of Preprofessional Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

This web site is offered by the JCAA as an aid to sharing academic assessment information with the aim of enhancing meaningful, not bureaucratic, assessment.
