IT&FA invites proposals on all aspects of international trade and finance, including trade policy, exchange rates, investments and capital flows, migration, communications and transportation, governance and law, management and marketing.  Industry-specific studies are welcome, as are proposals dealing with multilateral, regional, and national issues impacting international trade and finance.  Theoretical, conceptual and empirical papers are also invited. 

IT&FA is a multi-disciplinary association, and welcomes scholars from economics and finance, marketing and management, law, communications and other disciplines with an interest in globalization and the global economy.

Conference Information:

IT&FA welcomes both individual paper proposals, and proposals for complete sessions.  A complete session should have four papers.  A one-to-three page abstract should be submitted electronically for each paper.  Deadline:  January 30, 2009.

Award for Best Student Papers (BSPA):   There will be up to two cash awards ($750 first prize, $500 second) for the best student papers.  IT&FA will consider only completed papers that have not been published.  The submission deadline is February 20, 2009.  All authors need to be currently enrolled students.

Publication of Papers:

The best papers may be published in the Global Economy Journal.  See http://www.bepress.com/gej/

Registration:  All persons planning to attend the conference need to register by January 30, 2009.  Registration fees are required before the abstract is evaluated.  If the abstract is not accepted, the full fee will be returned.  Proposals should include complete contact information (mail address, telephone and fax numbers, email), and academic or institutional associations.  All abstracts are double blind reviewed.  Registration fees must be accompanied by the conference registration form (to be posted later). 

Conference Registration Fees (includes 2009 membership dues): 

$220 for faculty and international business professionals

$180 for students

Hotel Arrangements:  Attendees will stay at the new conference center at North China University of Technology.  Room rates (single or double):  360 RMB per night (including taxes, service, and breakfast).  In early June 2008 one U.S. dollar = 6.93 RMB; one Euro = 10.723 RMB.

Everyone attending the conference from outside mainland China will need a visa.  Individual participants should obtain visas from Chinese embassies or consulates.

Electronic abstract submission:  January 30, 2009

Notification of Abstract Accepted for Presentation:  February 15, 2009.

Best Student Paper Award Full Paper Submissions:  February 20, 2009.
