Checklist For New Students for Winter Quarter 2009

Do your university housing contract online at:http://www.facilities.ohiou.edu/housing/rs/index.html by clicking on "My Housing". (All undergraduates who have completed less than two academic years of study are required to do this contract before arriving). Questions? Email housing@ohio.edu
Make a reservation for the airport shuttle (December 26, 27, and 28) at: http://www.ohio.edu/transportation Questions? Email transportation@ohio.edu
Make a reservation for temporary housing (dates TBD) at: http://www.facilities.ohiou.edu/housing/rs/index.html by clicking on "Interim/Temporary Housing" Questions? Email housing@ohio.edu
Register at our office (348 Baker University Center) when you arrive by bringing your I-20 or DS-2019, passport, and I-94. Important Dates:
Wednesday, December 30

Required International Student Orientation program for all new international students at the Baker University Center Theater

Monday, December 28

TOEFL Preparation meeting at the Baker University Center Theater

Tuesday, December 29

TOEFL Test at 8:00 am at Gordy Hall

Thursday, December 31

TOEFL Test results at Gordy Hall

Sunday, January 3

Required academic orientation for all new undergraduate international students who pass te TOEFL test at the Baker University Center Theatre.

New International Student Check In from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

Monday, January 4

Winter quarter classes begin

 

 

Check-in

After you have arrived at Ohio University , you must register at our office in 348 Baker University Center to receive initial instructions. When you check in, you will be greeted by an International Student Advisor who will assist you with any questions or concerns that you may have. You must bring your passport, I-94, and your I-20 or DS-2019 with you to the office.  If you have brought family members with you, you must also bring their documents with you when you come to the office.

Temporary Housing

Temporary housing will be available for new students. Reservations are required. Contact Business & Residence Services. Go to http://www.facilities.ohiou.edu/housing/rs/index.html or email housing@ohio.edu for more information or to make a reservation.

MISSING DOCUMENTS

A few students have not yet received the I-20 or DS-2019. That is usually because the Admissions Office needs further documentation from you. Please take care of the missing papers and wait to receive your I-20 or DS-2019 before trying to come to Ohio University.

Have travelers’ checks in U.S. dollars for your immediate expenses.
